Chandra Asri Group Achieves EDGE Advanced Green Building Certification

The Admin Building OPE at the Ciwandan Plant in Cilegon has successfully obtained the EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) Advanced Green Building Certification from the Green Building Council Indonesia. The EDGE certification assesses three main aspects: energy efficiency, water efficiency, and embodied carbon in materials, focusing on consistent sustainability practices reflected in the building's daily operations by utilizing renewable energy and selecting materials with minimal environmental impact.

Chandra Asri Group will continue to integrate sustainability into its business strategy. This will be concretely implemented by considering Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects in every business decision. This achievement also demonstrates the company's commitment to prioritizing environmentally friendly principles, with the EDGE Advanced certification recognizing that the Admin Building OPE has exceeded basic standards in design and operational efficiency for green buildings, resulting in more efficient use of electricity, water, and materials.

Integrated Port Services and Bulk Liquid Storage through PT Chandra Pelabuhan Nusantara (CPN)

The Chandra Asri Group is currently operating an integrated solution, offering port services (loading and unloading services and berthing services) and liquid bulk storage (tank rental) for various industries in Cilegon and surrounding areas through its subsidiary, PT Chandra Pelabuhan Nusantara (CPN). CPN operates three strategic docks in the Sunda Strait with a total capacity of 96,000 DWT for various products and a tank facility of 518,000 cubic meters for naphtha, ethylene, propylene, pyrolysis gasoline (Py-Gas), and others. The presence of CPN is expected to optimize the operational efficiency of various industries and provide added value for stakeholders.

Industries in Cilegon will soon be able to utilize CPN's services to distribute liquid chemicals, petrochemicals, and refinery products, enhancing mobility efficiency. CPN has received approval from the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation with the issuance of the Port Business Entity (BUP) license compliance letter on February 20, 2024. On July 1, 2024, the Chandra Asri Group effectively transferred the port assets, docks, storage facilities, and supporting facilities to CPN.

Chandra Asri Group Operates a Bag Film Roll Plant for Heavy Duty Sacks

Chandra Asri Group operates a Bag Film Roll (BFR) Plant that utilizes the company's Polyethylene products to produce Heavy Duty Sacks. The BFR production is also testing the use of 30% recycled material from post-consumer sacks, known as Post Consumer Recycle (PCR). The presence of the BFR Plant is expected to enhance the effectiveness of the company's internal supply chain and better serve customer needs.

In the past year, the BFR Plant has produced packaging for Chandra Asri Group's resin products, namely Asrene® and Trilene®. At the BFR Plant, Chandra Asri Group uses equipment with an efficient air cooling system to reduce energy and water usage, and selectively adopts the best technology to reduce noise levels. Additionally, the company ensures that the cooling materials used in the production process are environmentally friendly and free from ozone-depleting substances (non-ODS – Ozone Depleting Substance).

Chandra Asri Group Involves Culinary MSMEs in TAM 2024

Chandra Asri Group collaborates with 23 culinary MSMEs from Ciwandan District, Cilegon City, and Anyar District, Serang Regency, Banten to open stalls within the petrochemical plant during the scheduled plant maintenance period, known as Turn Around Maintenance (TAM), to provide food for the workers. The hygiene of the food and drinks sold is monitored by the Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Team and Chandra Asri Group Clinic Doctors. This initiative was carried out by the Chandra Asri Group as a form of contribution to improving the welfare of the surrounding community and supporting MSMEs as one of the foundational pillars of the Indonesian economy.

The MSMEs involved reported a significant increase in income and succeeded in establishing wider relationships through interactions between business actors. Henny, from Kp. Pangabuan, Kel. Gunung Sugih, which is one of the MSMEs, said that its daily income had increased by 250% from usual. The involvement of MSMEs is the Company's effort to participate in improving the economic level of local communities by involving culinary business actors.

Chandra Asri Group Built National Plastic Asphalt Showcase in Bali

Chandra Asri Group in collaboration with the ASEAN Center of Excellence on Smart City (ASECH) and Jimbaran Hijau, inaugurated the National Plastic Asphalt Showcase in the Jimbaran Hijau area on Tuesday (11/06). This National Plastic Asphalt Showcase serves as a Learning Center for the development of Plastic Asphalt, aimed at inspiring broader implementation in various regions across Indonesia.

This plastic asphalt showcase will become a Learning Center where policymakers from various regions can directly observe the use of low-value plastic waste, such as plastic bags, as a mixture in asphalt. Bali was chosen for this showcase due to its strategic location (an international hub), numerous NGOs and communities, and its reputation as a top recreational destination worldwide, thereby promoting the adoption of this plastic asphalt innovation in Indonesia.

The Fifth Aksi Asri Operasi Semut Held in Kota Tua

Chandra Asri Group is again holding the Aksi Asri Operasi Semut in Kota Tua Jakarta, an iconic historical tourist destination in Jakarta. The Asri Semut Operation Vol.5 action was attended by 33 volunteers consisting of the general public and employees. In this fifth activity, 24 kilograms of waste were collected, consisting of 4 kilograms of organic waste, 12.5 kilograms of plastic waste, 3.5 kilograms of paper waste and 4 kilograms of other waste. The collected waste is then handed over to the waste management facility managed by the Kota Tua Area Management Unit (UPK) for further management.

It is hoped that the presence of the Asri Operation Semut Action will be able to help the community build new habits in waste management, starting from simple steps such as sorting waste according to type before throwing it away. This activity is also expected to increase public awareness regarding the positive impacts of waste sorting, such as plastic waste which can be further utilized if it is sorted properly.

MSCI recognized Chandra Asri Group's impressive market capitalization and free float-adjusted market capitalization, which met the index threshold. PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group), a leading chemical and infrastructure solutions company in Indonesia, is undergoing Turnaround Maintenance (TAM) or scheduled facility maintenance for its petrochemical plant located in Ciwandan, Cilegon City, Banten. This maintenance process began on May 7, 2024, and is expected to last approximately 55 days.

This TAM activity is also including the integration of new facilities with existing ones to support the Company's future expansion and business development plans, thereby strengthening the self-sufficiency of the domestic industry. Additionally, several sustainability initiatives are implemented during this TAM, one of which is the utilization of renewable energy through the installation of the third phase of the solar rooftop. In this annual Meeting agenda, 9 (nine) agenda items were discussed, including the distribution of dividends, business development, and changes in the composition of the Company's management.

The Meeting approved the distribution of cash dividends using part of the 2021 Retained Earnings. The Meeting also discussed the feasibility study on the plan to add Bag Film Roll manufacturing business activities as well as the separation of sea port units, docks and storage facilities to a subsidiary whose 99.99% shares are owned by the Company, namely PT Chandra Pelabuhan Nusantara (CPAT).

PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (“Chandra Asri Group)  and Glencore plc (“Glencore”), one of the world’s leading natural resources companies, have entered into a Sales and Purchase Agreement with Shell Singapore Pte. Ltd. (“SSPL”) to acquire all its interest in the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Singapore (“SECP”).

Following a competitive auction process, CAPGC Pte. Ltd. (“CAPGC”), a joint venture that is majority-owned and operated by Chandra Asri Group and minority-owned by Glencore through their respective subsidiary companies, agreed to acquire SECP which comprises a refinery with processing capacity of 237,000 barrels per day of crude oil, a 1.1 million metric ton per annum ethylene cracker on Bukom island, and downstream chemical assets on Jurong Island.

Chandra Asri Group, along with the Cilegon City Government and the Cilegon City Environmental Agency, has implemented a 146 meters long Plastic Asphalt Road in the Bagendung Final Waste Disposal Site (TPSA) area. This initiative successfully managed 280 thousand sheets of plastic bags collected during the "Hari Peduli Sampah Nasional 2024 Kota Cilegon " event.

Previously, in 2019, Chandra Asri Group and the Cilegon City Government had also completed a 20.2 km road at 36 locations in Cilegon City. Collaboration with the Cilegon City Government in the implementation of plastic asphalt roads will support sustainable waste management in this city.

PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group) once again provides support to the Mudik Gratis Penuh Berkah Program initiated by the Cilegon City Government. This year, Chandra Asri Group provides support with 3 bus fleets for the routes to Semarang, Solo, and Cirebon. With the company's support, the free homecoming provided by Chandra Asri Group for the people of Cilegon is expected to facilitate participants in celebrating Eid moments with their families in their hometowns.

The joint homecoming departure ceremony took place on Friday, April 5, 2024. Meanwhile, registration for the 2024 Blessing-filled Free Homecoming Program itself was conducted on March 30-31, 2024. A number of free buses supported by industries in Cilegon departed carrying a total of 1,800 residents with Cilegon ID cards to 19 destination cities covering 6 provinces, namely West Java, Central Java, East Java, South Sumatra, Lampung, and West Sumatra.

Chandra Asri Group and Perum Jasa Tirta II Support Renewable Energy Needs at CA-EDC Plant

Chandra Asri Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Perum Jasa Tirta II (PJT II) to conduct a feasibility study on the potential of green energy through the development of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) and Hydropower Plants (PLTA). This research aims to promote the implementation of Renewable Energy and support Indonesia's target to achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2060.

The energy from these facilities will be distributed, one of which, to the world-class Chlor-Alkali and Ethylene Dichloride (CA-EDC) Plant currently being developed by Chandra Asri Group, with a total electricity capacity requirement of 340 MW. In addition to power generation, this study will also explore the potential development of a Clean Water Supply System in collaboration with Chandra Asri Group.

Chandra Asri Group and BCI Minerals Limited (“BCI”) are pleased to announce the signing of a binding Offtake Agreement. Chandra Asri will use the salt produced at the Mardie Project in the world-scale Chlor-Alkali plant currently being developed in Indonesia. The Offtake Agreement with BCI is for the supply of salt from BCI’s Mardie Salt Project over a three-year term, with Chandra Asri having the right to extend the term for a further 3 years’ subject to certain conditions being met.

Chandra Asri Group Successfully Launches 1.5 T Rupiah Bond Offering in 2024

Chandra Asri Group have successfully completed its first Rupiah Bond issuance and was noted to be oversubscribed. In this phase, the company offered Rupiah-denominated coupons of 7.95% for the 3-year series A of IDR542.38 billion, 8.25% for the 5-year series B of IDR416.80 billion, and 8.75% for the 7-year series C of IDR540.82 billion. This transaction marks Chandra Asri Group continuous success in tapping the domestic fixed income market, as part of the Company’s Shelf Program IV approved by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), with an aggregate IDR8 trillion funding capacity between 2022 and 2024.

 To date, Chandra Asri Group had successfully executed four tranches of its 4th Shelf Program. Phase I in 2022 was closed with a value of IDR2 trillion, followed by Phase II in 2023 of IDR1.25 trillion, Phase III in 2023 of IDR1 trillion, and the latest Phase IV issuance in 2024 of IDR1.5 trillion.

Chandra Asri Group has achieved recognition with a B Score in climate change disclosure by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). CDP is an international non-profit organization that facilitates the disclosure of corporate environmental impact information. CDP has the most extensive environmental database in the world and is considered the gold standard in environmental reporting. CDP ratings are widely used to guide investment choices and procurement towards an economy that embraces carbon-neutral principles, sustainability, and resilience.

Recognition related to the implementation of ESG principles confirms the Company's commitment to managing environmental impacts, responding to climate change issues with proactive measures, and efforts to achieve sustainability. This achievement has also positioned Chandra Asri Group at the forefront of CDP in Indonesia and on par with globally recognized chemical companies.

Complete Plastic Asphalt Road Target, Garut Regency Becomes the Closing Location

Chandra Asri Group proudly announces the achievement of the target of 100 km of plastic asphalt roads, which was pursued together with various stakeholders such as the government, private sector, and associations. This significant milestone was celebrated in Garut Regency, where Chandra Asri Group collaborated with Bakti Barito Foundation and Garut Regency Government, contributing to the construction of 50.2 km out of the total 100 km of plastic asphalt roads. The 50.2 km plastic asphalt road was constructed from 2022 to 2023 and successfully managed to handle 431.5 tons of plastic waste from the Landfill (TPA).

By the end of 2023, Chandra Asri Group, along with its partners, had laid 120.8 km of roads with a mixture of plastic waste, surpassing the initial target of 100 km. The total accumulation of these roads created new functions and added economic value for 1,086 tons of plastic bag waste. Furthermore, each kilometer of plastic asphalt road absorbs approximately 1.6 tons of plastic bag waste and provides a reward of increasing road durability by up to 40%.

Chandra Asri Group supports the activities of the Jakarta Waste Management Synergy Forum in commemorating the National Waste Care Day (HPSN) 2024 organized by the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH). This forum serves as a platform for strengthening DLH DKI Jakarta's programs and inviting strategic partners to support comprehensive and integrated waste management. On this occasion, Edi Riva'i, as the Legal, External Affairs, and Circular Economy Director of Chandra Asri Group, shared the collaboration experience between the company and DLH DKI Jakarta in the Jakarta Recycle Center (JRC) program.


From October 2020 to October 2022, the JRC program located in Pesanggarahan, South Jakarta, provided education on sorting 8 types of household waste to 6,800 participants or 1,700 households. Chandra Asri Group's contributions to the JRC program include 65,000 pieces of 3-color sorting waste bags, 220 pieces of waste sorting schedule education posters, and 1 organic waste shredding machine.

Chandra Asri Group Supports Mobility for Deaf People Through Plastic Waste Circular Economy

Chandra Asri Group, in collaboration with Kitaoneus.asia, a disability advocacy organization, conducted outreach for 50 deaf online drivers to directly understand the concept of circular economy while facilitating them to obtain Free Driver's Licenses (SIM). This program also commemorates National Waste Care Day 2024, which falls on February 21, 2024, with the theme "Addressing Plastic Waste Productively."

In this program, all deaf online drivers participating in obtaining free SIMs are encouraged to bring plastic waste collected from their homes. The collected plastic waste, exchanged for SIMs, will be further managed at the Integrated Waste Management Industry Overcome Waste - Self-Managed (IPST ASARI) under the guidance of Chandra Asri Group located in Kelurahan Kota Bumi, Purwakarta District, Cilegon City. IPST ASARI processes low-value plastic waste into pyrolysis oil called PLUSRI, which is utilized by fishermen and home businesses along the coast of Pangaradan Beach, Anyar Village, Serang District, Banten.
