With Sinarmas Land (SML), Chandra Asri continues the Plastic to Food partnership. This time Chandra Asri is collaborating with SML's subsidiary, PT Maligi Permata Industrial Estate (operator of the KIIC industrial area), which is located in Dusun Kiarajaya, Margamulya Village, Karawang Regency. This activity aims to encourage the segregation of waste from sources and be wise in managing waste, especially plastic waste.
Through this program, every kilogram of segregated plastic waste collected by residents can be exchanged for one kilogram of rice. Through the participation of 217 families from Dusun Kiarajaya, this program collected 500 kg of plastic waste within six months. The collected high-value plastic waste is then sold to recyclers, while the low-value plastic waste is further processed into plastic-based fuels equivalent to kerosene, diesel, and gasoline at the Chandra Asri Waste Management Facility, Industri Pengelolaan Sampah Terpadu-Atasi Sampah, Kelola Mandiri (IPST ASARI).
Chandra Asri has received SNI 7593:2010 certification for the application of drinking water pipes for its resin, Asrene®SP4808 type High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). With Asrene®SP4808 certification, Chandra Asri guarantees both the quality and feedstock supply in order to accelerate the development of drinking water supply systems. This is a form of support for the Government in realizing 30 percent access to drinking water in 2024 through the construction of drinking water supply infrastructure directly to homes via a pipeline system. The use of Asrene® SP4808 can also assist downstream industry partners in producing safe and standardized drinking water pipes in accordance with SNI 4829.1: 2015 requirements, the standard for HDPE pipes for drinking water pipe applications.
With its elastic characteristic, pipes from HDPE material can adapt to contours and land shifts, thereby minimizing the risk of leakage during an earthquake. Aside from that, Asrene®SP4808 is also an excellent material due to the best long-term strength in its class, with a PE 100 classification to produce pipes of high-quality standards. With this SNI certification, Chandra Asri also ensures that the health and safety aspects of the end user are protected because the resin has passed the heavy metal limit test.
On 12 January 2023, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk held an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) with a single agenda; Approval for Changes in the Composition of the Company's Management. The meeting which took place at Wisma Barito Pacific, Jakarta, was attended by the Board of Commissioners and Directors of Chandra Asri both in person and virtually. EGMS approved the appointment of Mr. Bandhit Thamprajamchit as Commissioner replacing Mr. Wirat Uanarumit and also the appointment of Mrs. Diana Arsiyanti as a member of the Board of Commissioners. Mr. Wirat Uanarumit and Mrs. Diana Arsiyanti officially served as members of the Company's Board of Commissioners as of the closing of the EGMS on that day until the closing of the Chandra Asri Annual General Meeting of Shareholders in 2024.
Chandra Asri has signed a Conditional Shares Sale and Purchase Agreement (CSPA) and Shareholders Agreement (SHA) for two subsidiaries owned by PT Krakatau Sarana Infrastruktur (“PT KSI”), namely PT Krakatau Daya Listrik (“PT KDL ”) and PT Krakatau Tirta Industri (“PT KTI”). The signing of the CSPA and SHA was carried out by the Main Director of PT KSI, Agus Nizar Vidiansyah and the President Director of Chandra Asri, Erwin Ciputra, witnessed by the Main Director of PTKS, Silmy Karim.
Chandra Asri is very excited to execute the “programmatic M&A” strategy to position the Company for profitable and sustainable business growth. In the CSPA, it was agreed that Chandra Asri will purchase 70% of PT KSI's shares in PT KDL and 49% of PT KSI's shares in PT KTI with a total value of IDR3.24 Trillion (or US$210 million). Chandra Asri hoped that the cooperation between Chandra Asri and PT KSI Group and PTKS could be better enhanced, and mutually support continuous industrial development in the future.
Closing the year of 2022, the two Chandra Asri plants in Ciwandan and Puloampel were awarded the Green PROPER Award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) of the Republic of Indonesia on Thursday, 29 December 2022. These two Chandra Asri plats were considered to exceed environmental management requirements, as well as contribute to community development and biodiversity around the Company's operational area.
The achievement of Green PROPER in 2022 marked the second time for Chandra Asri to receive the highest appreciation in environmental management. This award is also a form of the Company's commitment to sustainable business practices by implementing green energy. In the future, Chandra Asri will be committed to maintaining its achievements in minimizing environmental impacts and continuing to make process improvements to realize a sustainable petrochemical business.
PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk won Gold Achievement in the 2022 OPEXCON Award organized by SHIFT Indonesia at Pullman Jakarta Central Park. In the 10th year of Chandra Asri's participation, the Company has managed to maintain its Gold Achievement title in the Manufacturing category for the third year running. This is an ocular proof of Chandra Asri's commitment to continue to innovate and implement continuous improvements to create a sustainable business. Apart from Gold Achievements, Chandra Asri also received a Bronze Achievements for other project.
OPEXCON is a competition initiated by SHIFT Indonesia to invite companies in Indonesia to pay more attention to the importance of innovation and improvement for the future of business. Winners are judged based on project selection, project methodology, problem analysis, solutions, and presentation skills. Of the 100 participants, Chandra Asri was chosen as one of the 10 finalists who were entitled to be awarded the Gold Achievement.
To commemorate National Tree Planting Day, which falls every November 28, one hundred Chandra Asri volunteers planted trees in Kehati Village 165 Park, Kadubeureum Village, Padarincang, Banten. This planting procession is in collaboration with the Kehati Cikalumpang Foundation and was attended by representatives of the Serang Regency Environmental Service (DLH), representatives of the Serang Regency Environment and Sanitation Service (DLHK) Seed Center, and Chandra Asri's management.
In commemoration of this National Tree Planting Day, Chandra Asri planted a total of 450 tree seedlings, 200 seeds were planted at Kehati Village 165 Park, and another 250 tree seeds were distributed to Taman Kehati Asri owned by Chandra Asri. On the same occasion, the Head of DLH Serang Regency presented an award to Chandra Asri for planting 2,000 tree seedlings and the company's commitment to protecting biodiversity in the Kehati Barokah Park, Kadubeureum Village, Serang Regency.
Chandra Asri won the Gold/Platinum award in the SNI Award 2022, organized by the National Standardization Agency (BSN). Chandra Asri's achievement as the awardee of Major Goods Organizations in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Textile, and Mining Sectors was due to the Company's commitment to implementing the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for the quality and standards of its products.
In its business operations, Chandra Asri carries out strict quality control to ensure the production process and product quality are always at their best performance. Chandra Asri has also obtained SNI 8887:2020 certification for gas pipe raw materials this year. The existence of SNI products will make it easier for consumers to choose quality products that are safe for health and the environment.

PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk won two Level 5 Green Industry awards from the Ministry of Industry. These two highest awards were given to Chandra Asri's two plant, Ciwandan Site and Puloampel Site for they were considered successful in implementing green industry principles in their production processes to run more sustainable business operations. 2022 is the 12th year of implementing the Green Industry. Through this award, the Government encourages industrial development that is in harmony with the preservation of environmental functions and can provide benefits to society.
Chandra Asri announced their collaboration with Borouge, a petrochemical company from the United Arab Emirates, at the B20 (Business 20) event in Nusa Dua, Bali, Monday (14/11/2022). The commitment agreed by both of petrochemical companies were based on a joint circular economy initiative which cover the management of polyolefin waste and recycling facilities to produce new products; as well as opportunities in co-marketing and market development initiatives, including developing non-metallic applications in certain market segments in oil and gas amalgamation, automotive, construction, and else, to promote the use of polyolefins.

This rating is categorizing as “Low Risk” of experiencing material financial impacts from ESG factors, which places Chandra Asri in the top 1 percentile in the Global Commodity Chemical sub-industry as assessed by Sustainalytics.
Sustainalytics’ ESG Risk Ratings measure a company’s exposure to industry specific Material ESG risks and how well a company is managing those risks. This multi-dimensional way of measuring ESG risk combines the concepts of management and exposure to arrive at an assessment of ESG risk, i.e., a total unmanaged ESG risk score or the ESG Risk Rating, that is comparable across all industries. The Sustainalytics rating is yet another accomplishment in advancing Chandra Asri’s ambition to elevate and operationalize the company’s ESG commitment
Chandra Asri again held the fourth Community Awareness activity on Thursday, October 20, 2022. Like the previous event, this annual routine is intended for people who live around the company's gas pipelines to increase their awareness of the risks and impacts that can arise from the gas pipeline's existence. This activity was attended by 62 participants consisting of representatives of the sub-district, representatives of the Bojonegara Police, and representatives of BPBD Kab. Serang, Bojonegara Koranmil, RT and RW representatives, youth, and community leaders.
The socialization of disaster response includes an appeal regarding activities prohibited around the pipeline, such as planting perennials, burning garbage, making excavations, and constructing buildings, as well as actions that the community can take if they find these activities in the gas pipeline. It is hoped that after the implementation of Community Awareness, the community can comply with the rules that have been set in the industrial gas pipeline area to avoid undesirable things such as accidents or industrial disasters.
The Jakarta Recycle Center (JRC), a waste management program initiated by the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH) and supported by Chandra Asri, attracted the attention of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. On 5 October 2022, Anies visited Pesanggarahan District, South Jakarta, to directly observe the implementation of the JRC accompanied by the Head of DLH DKI Jakarta, Asep Kuswanto and Director of Legal & External Affairs of Chandra Asri, Edi Rivai.
JRC program is the result of various stakeholder’s collaboration in waste management in DKI Jakarta. In 2021, the total value of waste (organic & inorganic) managed under the JRC program is 213 tons. For the last two years, Chandra Asri's contributions to the JRC program include providing 3-color sorting bags, cylinder prints, posters for the waste sorting schedule, waste sorting booklets, 660-liter trash cans, and organic chopping machines.
Chandra Asri won four trophies in Subroto Energy Efficiency Award (PSBE) organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. In this award, the two Company Site Offices in Ciwandan and Puloampel managed to become winners. PSBE is an annual awarding event to appreciate the company's success in implementing energy efficiency and conservation in the building and industrial sectors.
This year, Ciwandan Site Office became the runner-up winner of the Energy Management in the Large Manufacturing Industry Sub-Category. In addition, SO Ciwandan also won an award in the Special Innovation of Energy Management Sub-Category through the Energy Savings program in Recycle Furnace by Changing the Coil Arrangement of SRT-V to SRT-1.5.
On the other hand, SO Puloampel also contributed two trophies in the Special Innovation of Energy Management Sub-Category. The winning innovations in this category are the Energy Consumption Optimization program & Control System Improvement in Factory Operations with the Implementation of the APC System and the Energy Performance Optimization & Dehydrogenation Reactor Conversion Program by Upgrading Styromax-6 to Styromax-9 Catalyst.

The award ceremony held by Investor Magazine was conducted online on Wednesday, October 28, 2022, and was attended by Sandiaga S. The 10th Brand Finance Indonesia - Top 100 Most Valuable Brands is an award ceremony for the most valuable brands in Indonesia.
In addition to measuring the overall brand value, Brand Finance also determines the brand's relative strength through a balanced scorecard that evaluates marketing investment, stakeholder equity, and business performance. In this event, Chandra Asri achieved brand performance with a Brand Value of USD 150 million and a Brand Rating of AA+.

Understanding the importance of managing the impact of its operational activities in the petrochemical sector, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk is always committed to continuing to implement the Company's policies regarding Occupational Health & Safety, Environment, Quality, and Energy Management Systems in order to protect the environment. Through this policy, the Company also strives to prevent pollution, mitigate climate change, optimize the use of sustainable resources, and maintain the diversity of the surrounding ecosystem.
In the implementation of biodiversity protection, Chandra Asri has policies to support Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) initiatives as well as special policies that have been directly approved and supported by the President Director. The policy is implemented by establishing the initial site for biodiversity conservation with the name Kehati Asri which is located in Gunung Sugih Village, Ciwandan District, Cilegon City. Through the maintenance of the Kehati Asri, the Company strives to continue to conduct an inventory of flora and fauna diversity.
Based on the Flora Diversity Status Data of the Kehati Asri in 2022, there were 407 plants with 43 plant species with a Flora Biodiversity index of 2.95, up from the index in 2021 which was 2.93. There are several types of plants in Chandra Asri Kehati, including Mahogany (66 trees), Mango (52 trees), Yellow Palm (34 trees), Nam Nam (31 trees), Sawo Kicik (19 trees), and various other plants.
Meanwhile, the Fauna Diversity at the Kehati Asri in 2022 is 126 animals from 3 family categories, namely Aves, Herpetofauna, Mammals. Based on this data, the Fauna Biodiversity Index in Kehati Asri is 2.07 for the Aves family, 1.66 for the Herpetofauna family, and 1.21 for the Mammal family.
Chandra Asri remains committed to continuing to increase this biodiversity index as a step to contribute to building a balanced ecosystem.
Chandra Asri received an award from Habitat for Humanity Indonesia (HFHI), which was handed over directly by the National Director of HFHI, Susanto Samsudin, to the Director of HR and Corporate Affairs, Chandra Asri, Suryandi, at the Donor Appreciation Night event, in Jakarta on 20 September 2022. This award was given by HFHI for Chandra Asri's long-term partnership and contribution in supporting humanitarian programs to improve the quality of life for vulnerable people so that they can have a better life.
This partnership between Chandra Asri and HFHI has had an impact on the lives of hundreds of beneficiaries. The partnerships that have been established include the Bedah Kampung Program in Cisiram, Disaster Response assistance during the Flood and Landslide in Lebak, aid during the recovery period after the Sunda Strait tsunami, and assistance for the establishment of temporary shelters after the tsunami and liquefaction in Palu. Together with HFHI, Chandra Asri helped speed up the post-disaster recovery period so that affected communities could recover faster.
As a form of commitment towards environmental preservation, Chandra Asri held a Beach Clean Up event to celebrate the Company’s 30th anniversary. The event was held at Paku and Pangaradan Beaches, Anyer, in collaboration with Bank Sampah Digital, involving 336 volunteers consisting of Chandra Asi employees, Anyer Village community, scout members, students, and representatives of the Forkopimda Serang. The event was also attended by the Secretary of the Directorate General of Pollution and Environmental Damage Control (PPKL) of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Regional Assistant (Asda) I for Government Administration and Welfare of Serang Regency, Head of Cilegon Police, and Cilegon Dandim staffs.
The Beach Clean Up event, which took place on Thursday, 15 September 2022, managed to accumulate 507.2 kg of waste, making a total of 1,572.7 kg of waste collected if combined with the Kampung Bersih activity involving local residents. Furthermore, the waste were then handed over to the waste bank and TPS3R to be managed and recycled.
On the same occasion, Chandra Asri also handed over 25 trash cans to the Village Head of Anyer to be utilized at the beach. With the trash can, tourists are expected to no longer pollute the beach by littering carelessly.
On 12 September 2022, along with the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) Republic of Indonesia and various industrial partners, Chandra Asri attended the inauguration of Banten Polytechnic of Petrochemical Industry, located in Serang, Banten. From all the 127 new students accepted by the Banten Polytechnic of Petrochemical Industry in 2022, 41 students have been prepared to later undergo on-job training at Chandra Asri, which will begin in semester 4 of the lecture. In addition, the student will also undergo an official working bond at Chandra Asri for six years.
As one of the industry partners, in 2018 Chandra Asri donated two hectares of land for the school. In addition, Chandra Asri also contributes in the curriculum development process and provides expert teaching staffs from the Company to share knowledge and transfer expertise to students.
