On 20-23 November 2019, Chandra Asri participated again in the largest plastic exhibition in Indonesia, Plaspak Indonesia 2019. The opening ceremony and press conference were attended by Bapak Taufik Bawazier, Director of the Downstream Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia.
Not only displaying a booth with the theme ‘Your Growth Partner’, Chandra Asri also presents a mini-seminar, called Tech-Talk. In this Tech-Talk, it is explained about the use of LLDPE for low voltage cable applications to support infrastructure projects in Indonesia and the milestone and Chandra Asri's plans in the future in supporting the automotive industry.
On 18-22 November 2019, the 23rd National Quality & Productivity Gathering (TKMPN) event was held in Solo city. Themed ‘With Our Spirit of Innovation Improving Quality and Productivity in supporting Industry Era 4.0’, this time the topic of discussion included Manufacturing, Service Public Sector, Healthcare, Education and Other.
In this event, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk received Platinum Award represented by Mahadhika waskito, Ahmad Andika and Poppy Indah Sari as SGA Engineer Cation from the PE Process Improvement Section and PT SMI received Gold Award represented by Sugeng Priyono, Seno Pamungkas, and Imanuel Febrianto as SGA Operator Velloz Rx from PS1. Meanwhile, the facilitator from the TPM Section was represented by Alfian Kello.
On 15 November 2019, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk held an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) followed by a Public Expose 2019. Located at Wisma Barito Pacific, Jakarta, the meeting was attended by the Board of Commissioners and Directors of Chandra Asri.
Throughout the meeting, a merger plan between Chandra Asri and its subsidiary, PBI, was approved. This merger will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the daily business activities of Chandra Asri. There is no work termination of employment because all PT PBI employees will become Chandra Asri employees.
In addition, the shareholders have approved the appointment of Mr. Tanawong Areeratchakul as a new member of the Board of Commissioners, replacing Mr. Cholanat Yanaranop, for the period from the close of the meeting until closing of the next Annual General Meeting of Shareholders which will be held in 2021.
As a partner for mutual progress, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk, through its subsidiary company, PT Styrindo Mono Indonesia, rebuilt a PAUD in the ring 1 area of the company, named PAUD Al-Hikmah. On 11 November 2019, ceremonial activities were carried out and continued with volunteers from SMI employees directly assisted the PAUD development process.
PAUD Al-Hikmah is the third PAUD that has been built by CAP and its subsidiary entities. Previously, the company also helped rebuild PAUD Barokah 1 and PAUD Widuri in Ciwandan District, Cilegon City.
On 7 November 2019, the Indonesia Operational Excellence Conference and Award was held again. This event is peak of a whole series of 2019 OPEXCON Project Competition, which is the biggest improvement competition initiated by SHIFT Indonesia and has been held since 2012.
With theme "OPEX 4.0: Process Excellence, People Transformation & Digital Innovation", the event was opened by the Minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia (Menkominfo), Mr. Johnny G. Plate. Furthermore, an awarding session was given to appreciate companies for their successful efficiency gains through a process improvement program, ranging from the service industry, manufacturing, and energy sectors which consisted of 78 project topics. In this event, CAP received Silver Award for the two SGAs that were registered.
For the first time, CAP attended Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO) International Conference. The 25th APQO was held on 14-16 October 2019 in Legian (Bali) with the theme "Pursuing Excellence, Futureproofing Sustainability".
One of the agendas of the APQO event was the Award for Contributing to Excellence (ACE). ACE is a competition for teams from the public, non-profit and industry sectors. CAP sent two Small Group Activities (SGA) from the Polymer Plant namely SGA HD Alpha from the Polyethylene Production Department and SGA Block Copo from the Polypropylene Production Department.
The competition was attended by more than 100 teams from 8 Asia Pacific countries divided into five streams. SGA HD Alpha and SGA Block Copo received 3 Stars Award which is the highest award in this competition.
On 23-26 September 2019, the 44th International Convention in QC Circle (ICQCC) event was held again and this time it was held in Tokyo, Japan with the theme "Creating a Future Future through TQM and QC Circle Activities". The topic of discussion at ICQCC 2019 is about Manufacturing, Service Public Sector, Healthcare and Education.
PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk and Styrindo Mono Indonesia (SMI), a subsidiary of PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk, received the Gold Award which is the highest ranking in this event. This achievement motivated the CAP team, SMI and other SGA members to improve their problem solving abilities at work.
On 20 September 2019, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk was named the Top Community Care Company in Asia in the 2019 Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability (ACES) Awards in Bangkok, Thailand. The award, which was initiated by the Mors Group, appreciated individuals and corporations in the Asian region in two broad categories; Leadership and Sustainability. Entering the Sustainability category, Chandra Asri championed the Cisiram Village Renovation (Bedah Kampung) and Plastic Road program and was successfully selected along with seven other companies in the Top Community Care sub-category. Through this award, Chandra Asri greatly emphasized its role and commitment to grow together with the community by becoming a reliable partner for all its stakeholders.
On 6 September 2019, Chandra Asri and PT Styrindo Mono Indonesia (SMI), a subsidiary of PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk, won the Gold Award at Awarding Night of Indonesian Sustainable Development Goals Awards (ISDA) organized by Corporate Forum for Community Development (CFCD). ISDA is an appreciation event for companies that are considered in empowering the community through CSR programs that are in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This award is a proof of company commitment in developing CSR programs that are sustainable and in line with SDGs values in order to achieve global development goals.
On 29 August 2019, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk signs a Momerandum of Understanding (MoU) with Banten Regional Police (Polda) on building construction Banten Police Headquarter (Mapolda). The signing was represented by Mr. Suryandi, as the Director of CAP. Previously in 2015, CAP also supported Polda Banten with donation of 10 motorcycle units to support police operations in keeping public safety and comfort.
This support is to help Banten Police enhance its public service, as part of CAP’s commitment to be Banten Province’s growth partner.
On 13-16 August 2019, CAP invited Bond Investors/ VIP Bondholders to Bangkok as a token of appreciation for their participation in the issuance of Shelf Registration Bonds II Chandra Asri Petrochemical Phase II Year 2019 in the amount of Rp750 billion last May. This VIP Trip is part of Chandra Asri Bond Club's loyalty program to maintain better relationships, participation levels, and trust from Chandra Asri bondholders.
In 25 July 2019, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (CAP) represented by Bapak Suryandi, the company’s Director, received 3rd place award of Indonesia Best Public Companies by SWA Magazine. This award main indicator was Wealth Added Index (WAI), that is a benchmark towards issuers with ability to return share price gains and dividends, more than its cost of equity, to its investors.
Every year, SWA Magazine releases 100 Best Wealth Creator companies in Indonesia (SWA 100). This year’s award that CAP received indicates improvement by five ranks, from ranking 8 received in 2018. CAP is also the only non-bank companies that ranked Top 5 in SWA 100, year 2019.
On 24 Juli 2019, Mubadala, OMV, Chandra Asri Petrochemical have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore opportunities for collaboration in the petrochemical sector in Indonesia. The Memorandum of Understanding documents the intention to explore potential opportunities for collaboration in the area of petrochemicals in Indonesia. The companies will set up working groups to jointly define a schedule for the evaluation of the opportunities.
The signing of the agreement was witnessed by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and His Excellency Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia. The agreement was signed by Mr. Musabbeh Al Kaabi, CEO of Petroleum & Petrochemicals Mubadala Investment Company, Dr. Rainer Seele, CEO of OMV and Erwin Ciputra, President Director of PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk and PT Chandra Asri Perkasa.

On 17-19 July 2019, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk participated in annual exhibition Indo Water 2019 which held in Jakarta Convention Center. One of CAP’s highlight product in the event is Asrene SP4808. This High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic pellet is the key material to high pressured drinking water pipe whose the supply is still dominated by imports. Through this product champion, CAP is ready to compete for domestic demand. With the capacity addition from new Polyethylene plant for 400 KTA that will operate in Q4 2019, CAP optimist to be able to support government in meeting the needs of value-added and high durable products for national infrastructure development project, especially for drinking water pipe raw material.

On 27 May 27 2019, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk officially granted a land in Anyer for Research and Development Ministry of Industry (Ministry of Industry) for the construction of the Petrochemical Polytechnic. The manuscript for collaborating was signed by Mr. Suhat Miyarso, VP of Corporate Relations CAP who attended with Mr. Abraham Sinatrawan, Department Manager of CSR CAP and Mr. Haris Munandar as Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry. The two-hectare grant land which is approximately 3-4 kilometers from the location of the CAP plant will be used for the construction of the Polytechnic with a special study program in the field of petrochemical. When it’s done, CAP also helps organize the curriculum, provides work facilities and internships, assigns the best employees to become lecturers and will prioritize the development of polytechnics to be able to work in CAP.
CAP received Energy Management Insight Award in the event of Energy Management Leadership Awards held by Clean Energy Ministerial, an international organization that promote policies and share best practices to accelerate transition to clean energy. CAP is appointed by Indonesian’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) to be one of three organizations to represent the country in this international and prestigious event. Energy Management Insight Award received by CAP, is a result of good energy management program implementation that is in accordance with the obtained ISO 50001 certificate. The panel for this award consist energy experts from various industries and G20 countries.
On 13 May 2019, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk held Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS), for the financial year of 2018 in Wisma Barito Pacific, Jakarta. Led by Mr. Djoko Suyanto as President Commissioner, the meeting was attended by the board of commissioner and directors of Chandra Asri. On this occasion, the shareholders approved to all the subjects discussed, one of them was the use of net profit in 2018 as cash dividends with a total value of US$54,500,000. This number will be taking into account with an interim dividend of US$28,801,917 paid on 24 October 2018. Thus, the remaining amount of cash dividend to be paid is US$25,698,083 or equal with US$0.00144.
The meeting also approved changes in company's structure which will start effective from 1 July 2019 until the closing of the Company's Annual General Meeting of Shareholders to be held in 2021, as well as several amendments to the Articles of Association, one of them, was the change in the company's status from foreign investment become domestic investment.
After being implemented for four months, the first phase of Nutrition Checkpoint Program by PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk was completed in April 2019. This program focuses on overcoming the problem of malnutrition in children which if left unchecked can cause health problems as the child grows. Cooperating with the Cilegon Public Health Office and the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UTPD) in Citangkil and Ciwandan District Health Centers, Cilegon. Chandra Asri targets 20 children in this health quality improvement program.
During the program, infants and toddlers with malnutrition status received intensive assistance from the UPTD Health Centers. Although this first phase has been completed, Chandra Asri will continue to monitoring and evaluation periodically for the participant children to ensure ideal nutritional development. In the future, this program will be replicated to other health centers in Cilegon, according to directions and recommendations from the Health Office.
As one of the facilities to support employee sports activities, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk built a Sport Hall in Dormitory PCI, Cilegon which was inaugurated on 27 April 2019. The event began with healthy gymnastics and door prizes as entertainment. Then the inauguration ceremony was marked by the signing of the inscription and ribbon cutting by Mr. Kulachet Dharachandra, Operations VP Director. The event continued with the Sport Exhibition, a futsal, badminton and table tennis friendly match with the aim of strengthening the togetherness of all employees. Hopefully the employees and family of Chandra Asri can use and maintain this facility as well as possible.
22 March 2019, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk received Nation Builder and Early Disaster Responder awards in Donor Appreciation Night held by Habitat for Humanity Indonesia.
These awards are a token of appreciation towards Chandra Asri’s active approach in supporting disaster response programs and post disaster recovery programs for survivors impacted from earthquake and liquefaction in Palu, Central Sulawesi and Tsunami Sunda Strait.
The Early Disaster Responder award was given to the company for being responsive in supporting the needs of shelter for natural disasters victims. The Nation Builder award was given to the company for its donation towards house development for people in needs in Indonesia.
Through these supports, Chandra Asri aimed to lift-up the burden of natural disasters victims in rebuilding their lives for the future.
